Welcome to RTC Sports Centre
The Rede, Tyne and Coquet Centre is a community sports and wellbeing centre located on the edge of Otterburn, Northumberland. We offer fantastic facilities run by local volunteers and staff for the communities of the three valleys. Our building contains a sports hall, a fully equipped gym, showers, a bar and social area. Outside, we have a sports field with a football pitch.

Our History
Founded in 1986,
RTC Sports Ltd is a charitable company which runs the RTC Sports Centre, Otterburn, for the benefit of our community. We have a Gym, run activities such as exercise classes, five a side football, roller disco’s and run social events such as family fun days and a music festival.
RTC collaborates closely with North Tyne Youth, based at the RTC, who run sessions for Juniors and a Teen Group, as well as youth clubs in the wider community, at Bellingham and Kirkwhelpington.
Our aim is to help people, young and old, to be active and thrive, to socialise and relax, and to develop to reach their full potential. We support children to socialise with other young people and enable isolated young people to have contact with Youth Workers and adult Volunteers, so they can gain information, support and guidance, and take part in a wide range of activities.
Our Facilities
The RTC provides a variety of facilities and programs aimed at promoting physical activity and community engagement.
- Sports Courts: For basketball, badminton, 5 a side football and other indoor sports.
- Fitness Areas: Equipped with weights and cardio machines
- Outdoor Facilities: Such as playing fields, tracks, or courts for sports like soccer and tennis.
- Events and Programs: Community events and classes for all ages.
Event Hire and Bar Lounge:
We have a fully licensed bars and lounge facility available for functions and events. We cater for gatherings such as parties, weddings, and sports events, providing refreshments and a social space for guests.
